What type of SIM card can I use?

Any SIM on any GSM Network worldwide: Meteor, O2 or Vodafone. Sigtec do NOT supply SIM cards. The SIM will need to be in credit and have its PIN disabled.

Is YOKE easy to set up?

YES! YOKE is configured to work “out of the box”. You will need to connect it to a 9-30V power supply (ac or dc, dc is better, Sigtec can supply mains to 12V adapters at price). Additional features are available via simple sms configuration.

Quick description of YOKE “out of the box”?

YOKE is ready to use out of the box, just add a SIM card and power supply, YOKE wil operate in a low security mode. Any number calling the device will operate the output relay. Any user with knowledge of YOKE's phone number operate and configure it. This solution is ideal for many low security applications.

Does the SIM inside YOKE get charged for my calls?
No, YOKE hangs up the call when it sees the number. The only cost is the SMS’s returned from YOKE during configuration. The SMS’s are charged at the same rate as from a normal mobile phone (refer to Network Operator for rates).
How do I allow only numbers I select to operate YOKE?

By sending a simple SMS command (SR E) to enable Restricted Access. Each phone number is then added by sending another simple SMS: AC for Add-number-with-confirmation and the number e.g. to add number +353861234567 use "AC +353861234567", Dont include quotes.

If I disable YOKE’s Restricted Access mode will I loose the numbers I added?

No, the Restricted Access mode can be disabled by sending the SMS: SR D. The numbers are still stored in the device when you enable Restricted Access again.

How many numbers can I fit on YOKE?

Maximum 20 on standard G2 version. More are available on request. The YOKE G3, will have the capability to hold up to a 1000 numbers and include an PC interface for easy number management.

How do I prevent other people from making changes to YOKE’s settings ?

YOKE includes sophisticated security features, by setting a 4-digit password on the SMS commands. All following configuration commands will require the password prefixed to the command. This is done by sending YOKE the following SMS: "SP 1234", don't include quotes, e.g. if the password is set to 1234 then to enable restricted access you would have to send: 1234 SR E.

What if the Network fails?
YOKE will not operate until the network returns. While individual cell-sites may fail,YOKE will switch to an alternative cell, its extremely rare to have a network failure.
What if the Power Fails?
Unless your system is battery backed, neither YOKE oryour host equipment will operate, Sigtec can supply a mains fail, power source for almost any application.
Is YOKE supplied with a relay on it?

YES, YOKE is supplied with one switching relay as standard. Optionally, a second Relay can be supplied.
How are the Relays rated?
2 Amp, 250Volt AC or 220Volt DC. Do not exceed this, Contact us for a solution to high current switching.
Can the Relay be triggered by an SMS?
Yes, by sending a command. The password doesn’t matter for the SMS commands that trigger relays only. If the number of the SMS sender is in the Restricted Access list on YOKE then it will be accepted, else it is ignored (unless Restricted Access is disabled). The Password is ignored for the relay-triggering SMS’s only.
Can the amount of time that the switching Relay stays active after I ring it be changed?
Yes, via SMS command from 1 second up to 24hrs. The maximum can be extended by special order if required
Can the Relay be set to latch (hold-on) when I call it?

Yes, via SMS command from 1 second up to 24hrs. The maximum can be extended by special order if required, ideal for timed simple heating or air-conditioning control.

Do I need to re-enter users numbers if I change the SIM card?

No, YOKE stores users numbers in non-volitiole memory, so changing sims will not effect the user list.

YOKE wont work with phones on other networks.?

Some networks some times issue SIMS that do not display the callers number of phones on other networks, this is not a fault with YOKE, replace the sim card.
